Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD)

A Joint, Accelerator for Innovative Minds (AIM) Project
20-21 February 2019: Industry Day Capability Collaboration Event (CLOSED)
08-09 May 2019: Capability Assessment Event (Submit NLT 22 March)

Overview

SOFWERX, in collaboration with the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO CBRND), and Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC), will host a series of events to identify Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction technologies available now, under development, or anticipated to be developed. These events will provide opportunities for direct dialogue with Industry, Academia, Warfighters, and Government subject matter experts to lower barriers to working with the DoD and accelerate disruptive technologies and processing to the field. The collaborative CWMD DoD group intends to align transition pathways across the full technology spectrum, regardless of maturity. The technologies being sought are focused around specific problem statements designed to satisfy near-term prioritized needs. This event will be run in the following phases:

Event Overview

Phase I: 09-10 JANUARY GOVERNMENT ONLY COLLABORATION EVENT – Problem Statement Development/Prioritization  – Completed

Phase II: 20-21 February 2019: INDUSTRY, ACADEMIC, AND LAB CAPABILITY COLLABORATION EVENT (CCE) – SOFWERX, in collaboration with USSOCOM, JPEO CBRND, and ECBC, will host a Capability Collaboration Event focused on CWMD technologies. During this event, Warfighters will interact and inform Industry, Academic, and Laboratory partners to further communicate operational needs. Participation in the Industry Day is not mandatory, however, it is designed to provide insights to ensure potential offerors understand the problem set(s) fully and to increase the likelihood of matching their technologies with Warfighter needs. If you do not wish to participate in the Capability Collaboration Event (CCE), you are free to submit your technology for review in the Capability Assessment Event (CAE). We will be accepting all submissions beginning o/a 25 February 2019.

Phase III: 08-09 May 2019: CAPABILITY ASSESSMENT EVENT (CAE) –  To be considered for the Capability Assessment Event, Industry must submit their respective technology for review beginning o/a 25 February 2019. The Government will subsequently review the submissions and downselect specific capabilities for 1-v-1 discussions at SOFWERX. SOFWERX will then notify those selected companies. Those selected companies must then RSVP to attend the CWMD Capability Assessment Event.
