During 10-19 October, SOFWERX, in collaboration with United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), is conducting a rapid integration effort in Tampa, FL, to augment existing hardware capabilities with complementary software applications.
The object of the effort is to demonstrate novel tactical capabilities with computing hardware and sensors integrated with software developed during the event. Multiple proofs-of-concept and prototypes in the realms of situational audio, communications, navigation and performance sensing are expected to be demonstrated at the conclusion of the event.
USSOCOM will select eight or more Subject Matter Experts to participate in this event and are looking for the following types of expertise:
1) Subject Matter Experts in man-machine interfaces for situational awareness and human-data input and integration. Experience in aural, visual and haptic recognition, interface and response is desired.
2) Software developers with experience in common platforms, languages, and virtualization technologies such as C, Linux, ATAK, Unity, and Docker are desired.
3) Communications specialists experienced in tactical radio data links and incorporation with ATAK and/or other government situational awareness systems.
A finalized schedule will be provided to selected attendees. Interested parties can tentatively plan for workdays from 0800 – 1800 for up to 8 days during the dates of 10-19 October.
How to Participate
Interested participants must submit their CVs NLT 12 September. Submitted CVs will be reviewed by USSOCOM for potential participation and subsequent downselect for attendance.

Stipends & Reimbursements
Selected participants will be afforded up to $1,400 per day to offset travel cost and provide for a modest stipend for their participation.
Government personnel that are selected to attend as SMEs will be reimbursed for their travel via existing USSOCOM mechanisms.
